Longtime SC4 AD Dale Vos Becomes Three-Time MCCAA Athletic Director of the Year Award Winner
Signifying his career impact and for an outstanding final semester at the helm of the Skippers athletic department, retired St. Clair County Community College athletic director, Dale Vos, is the 2025-26 MCCAA Athletic Director of the Year following a vote of his peers. Vos retired in December to cap off a Hall of Fame career that spanned 34 years.
This year's honor marks the third time Vos has been named MCCAA Athletic Director of the Year (1997, 2016, 2026) as the longtime leader of the department becomes only the second to win the award three or more times.
Prior to retiring in December, the Skippers enjoyed a banner fall semester under Vos' leadership, including an impressive three All-Americans and historic district championships earned by the men's soccer and women's volleyball programs.
In addition to being named MCCAA Athletic Director of the Year, Vos—the NJCAA Region 12 commissioner—was honored as a 2026 recipient of the George E. Killian Award of Excellence at the NJCAA National Convention in April. The George E. Killian Award of Excellence is awarded annually to individuals who have demonstrated the ideals of voluntarism, achievement, service, leadership, and excellence as exemplified by its namesake.
The pair of awards in 2026 join a long list of prestigious honors for Vos, including but not limited to NACDA Athletic Director of the Year (2006-07), NJCAA Mary Ellen Leicht Service Award (2016) and the NJCAA Loyalty Award (2021). In addition to the annual awards, Vos has been inducted into the SC4 Hall of Fame and BCAM Hall of Fame, as well as the NJCAA Golf Hall of Fame for his leadership as the chair of the NJCAA Golf Committee for more than 20 years.
